Carlton DeWoody was born and raised in New York City. He studied music at Tulane University, philosophy at the University of Colorado, and poetry at New School University. His fine art training occurred years earlier in kindergarten art class at The Town School. He has shown work nationally, including Kathleen Cullen Fine Art in Manhattan, Geshiedle Gallery in Chicago, and Circus of Books in Los Angeles, and has made performances at the Armory, Miami Basel, and Performa. He's interested in colors, sounds, and stuff that's fuzzy. He has fallen in love with the names of things, but wants to change them. |
